View Day-by-DayA Mexico yacht charter is two different products: Caribbean weeks from Cancún/Isla Mujeres, and Sea of Cortez weeks from La Paz. Compare start harbours in our Mexico charter bases guide.
Winter and spring are the classic seasons on both coasts. Caribbean trades and Cortez northerlies each need a different plan, so we match the base to the itinerary rather than pretending Mexico is one coastline.
From bareboats to skippered catamarans and crewed yachts, we match you to the right platform for Isla Mujeres hops or La Paz island circuits.

In Mexico you can hire a monohull sailing yacht, a catamaran, or a motor yacht. Bareboat and skippered weeks are the usual products; crewed and by-the-cabin options appear on the busier coasts. Pick the boat type that matches the group, then we shortlist fleets that actually sit in that base.

Yacht Charter Mexico FAQs
Bareboat usually needs recognised coastal experience and operator paperwork. Skippered and crewed weeks do not require you to skipper. We confirm documents before booking.
November to May is the core season for both Caribbean Mexico and the Sea of Cortez. Hurricane-season planning matters on the Caribbean side from June through November.
Weekly rates vary by coast and boat type. A mid-size catamaran in peak winter often sits in the mid-to-high thousands of dollars before extras. Fuel, marina fees and optional crew sit on top. Ask for a quote for your dates.
Yacht use for the week, standard inventory and contractual insurance. Fuel, park or marina fees, provisioning and optional skipper or hostess are usually extras.
Caribbean weeks usually start around Cancún/Isla Mujeres. Sea of Cortez weeks start in La Paz. See the Mexico charter bases page for harbour-by-harbour notes.
Bareboat suits crews comfortable with the chosen coast: reef and trade-wind sailing off Isla Mujeres, or Cortez island navigation from La Paz. Skippered is the better default for first Mexico weeks.
Do not mix coasts in one week. Cancún/Isla Mujeres and La Paz are separate flights and separate fleets. Plan daylight arrivals and respect park rules.
Yes, if you pick one coast. A classic Caribbean week hops from Isla Mujeres. A classic Cortez week explores islands out of La Paz. Combining both in seven days is not a sailing itinerary.
