Bases want a recognised skipper licence (ICC, RYA Day Skipper Practical or national equivalent) and, in most cases, a VHF certificate. Bring originals. We confirm the exact pair for your base before you pay a deposit.
Split or Trogir for the classic central loop. Sibenik if you want Krka and a quieter start. Dubrovnik if you already have a week on your CV and accept a smaller fleet. First-timers should not start in Dubrovnik in a windy July.
Plan on about EUR 2,200 in spring and autumn, EUR 3,200 in June and September, and EUR 4,500 in July and August for a mid-size monohull, before extras. We quote more than one fleet on the same Saturday.
Take the sailing yacht to sail, to berth in older harbours and to keep the week cheaper. Take a cat for space and shade if the budget is there and the marina can take the beam. They are different weeks.
The Bora can blow in any month, harder in the north and in sudden bursts. We watch the forecast in the week before handover and will move the area or add a skipper rather than force a first monohull week onto a lee shore.
