Primary charter bases and useful overnight harbours, labelled on the map.
Most Japan yacht charter weeks start from the harbours below. Saturday turnarounds are the busy logistics day in peak season. For boats and weekly rates see Japan yacht charter.
Japan charter base directory
Tokyo Bay area
Kanto-side staging for limited charter options with the strongest international access.
Osaka / Kansai
Kansai coastal option when an operator is running. Separate from Tokyo as a week, not a day-one hop.
Okinawa (seasonal)
Warmer-water seasonal charter when boats are positioned. Confirm dates before you plan a winter week.
Which base for which week
Choose Tokyo Bay for Kanto access. Choose Kansai if your operator bases there. Choose Okinawa only in season and only when a boat is actually available.
Provisioning, fuel and check-in
This is not a high-volume Saturday charter factory. Provision at the start marina and confirm language and paperwork at check-in. Airports: Tokyo (HND/NRT), Osaka (KIX) and Okinawa (OKA).

FAQs
Which Japan marina should I depart from?
Tokyo Bay, Kansai or seasonal Okinawa, matching where the operator actually bases. They are separate regions.
Do I need to book marina berths in advance?
Yes more often than in a high-volume Med market. Formalities and space can both be tight.
Is bareboat easy to find?
No. Skippered and crewed are more realistic. We will not pretend otherwise.
What about typhoons?
Summer and early autumn need a weather plan. We will flag poor windows.
Can I sail from Tokyo to Okinawa in one week?
No as a charter itinerary. Fly between regions if you want both.
