Montego Bay

Main north-coast visitor-airport start. Strongest access for most international crews.

Port Antonio

Quieter east-north-coast harbour. Better as a destination or alternative start than a rushed day-one hop from Montego Bay in poor weather.

Which base for which week

Choose Montego Bay for airport logistics. Choose Port Antonio when the operator bases there or the week is designed around that coast.

Provisioning, fuel and check-in

Provision at the start town. North-coast swell can shut some plans. Airport: Montego Bay (MBJ) for most crews, with a longer transfer to Port Antonio.

This page is research intent: where fleets start and which harbour fits your week. When you are ready to compare boats and weekly rates, use the Jamaica yacht charter page or browse yachts.

FAQs

Which Jamaica marina should I depart from?

Montego Bay for most visitor logistics. Port Antonio when that is the operator base or the planned coast.

Do I need to book marina berths in advance?

Yes more than in a high-volume BVI week. Options are fewer.

Is this like a BVI charter?

No. Jamaica is a thinner market with more skippered product and fewer packed-together harbours.

Is hurricane season a factor?

Yes from roughly June through November. We will be honest about windows.

Can I circumnavigate Jamaica in one week?

Rarely as a relaxed charter. Stay on one coast.
