Corfu marina map

Primary charter bases and useful overnight harbours, labelled on the map.

Corfu sits at the north end of the Ionian charter ground. Gouvia is the main marina and logistics hub; town quays and smaller harbours fill the week toward Paxos, Lefkada and the mainland coast. Winds are usually kinder than the Aegean Meltemi, which is why first-time Greece weeks often start here. For booking context, see yacht charter in Corfu. For winds and routes, use our sailing guide.

Gouvia Marina

Primary charter base north of Corfu Town; fuel, chandlery, transfers.

Corfu Town quays / Old Port area

Atmosphere and provisioning; less room for large charter fleets.

Lefkas / Lefkada canal bases (nearby Ionian)

Common alternative start for the inland sea once you leave Corfu.

Which base for which week

Start at Gouvia for most Corfu weeks. If your operator bases further south in Lefkada, you trade airport convenience for a shorter run into the inland Ionian.

Provisioning, fuel and check-in

Airport to Gouvia is a short transfer. Supermarkets and fuel are easy at the marina. Town-wall nights in Paxos and Gaios need early arrival in peak weeks. Nearest airport for most crews: Corfu (CFU).

This page is research intent: where to berth and which base fits the week. When you are ready to compare boats and weekly rates, use the Corfu yacht charter page or browse yachts.

Season and berth pressure

The Ionian summer is busy but usually less ferocious than the Aegean Meltemi. August fills Gouvia and the popular town quays.

Fees and what to expect

Gouvia is the logistics price. Town quays and Paxos nights are the scarce mid-week berths.

Approaches and shelter

Gouvia is the default check-in. Town walls further south need early arrival in peak weeks.

Nearby sailing ground

Paxos, the mainland coast and Lefkada open the inland Ionian once you leave Corfu behind.

FAQs

Is Gouvia the only Corfu charter marina?

It is the main one. Most bareboat fleets check in at Gouvia. Town berths are better for overnight stays than for fleet logistics.

Should I start in Corfu or Lefkada?

Start in Corfu if you fly into CFU and want the north Ionian. Start in Lefkada if your boat is based on the canal and you want the inland sea first.

Are Ionian marinas busy in August?

Yes on Saturdays and in the popular harbours. May, June and September are usually calmer.

Do I need a marina every night?

No. The Ionian has plenty of sheltered bays. Use marinas for fuel, water and bad-weather nights.
