Atolls and granite
Seychelles is granite and coral. The Maldives is pass and lagoon. Egypt is reef wall.
Catamaran first
Draft and living space matter more than pointing ability on these coasts.
Crewed is common
Many weeks run with a skipper or a host because the passes and the provisioning are the hard part.
An Indian Ocean yacht charter is mostly catamaran and crewed territory: the Seychelles, the Maldives, Mauritius, Tanzania and the Egyptian Red Sea. Distances look small on a map and feel longer when the pass is tidal and the next fuel is an island away.
The Seychelles page is the one we quote most often. The other coasts stay in the menu so you can see what exists, then we tell you honestly which week we can confirm. One published itinerary covers Praslin, La Digue and Mahé.
Draft and living space matter more than pointing ability on these coasts. Yacht hire often means a catamaran with a skipper who knows the passes. Monohull sailing yachts and motor yachts appear where fleets hold them; bareboat is real but less common than in the Mediterranean.

Indian Ocean Yacht Charter Types
In Indian Ocean you can hire a monohull sailing yacht, a catamaran, or a motor yacht. Bareboat and skippered weeks are the usual products; crewed and by-the-cabin options appear on the busier coasts. Pick the boat type that matches the group, then we shortlist fleets that actually sit in that base.

Yacht Charter Indian Ocean FAQs
The Seychelles. Bases, a published itinerary and a fleet we can actually shortlist. The Maldives is more permit and pass.
Often, yes. Bareboat exists, but a skipper who knows the passes is the difference between a good week and a nervous one.
It depends on the ocean. The Seychelles has two monsoon-shaped windows. Egypt is a winter product for Europeans. Ask for the month, not the brochure season.
Sometimes. Those pages exist so the coast is in the menu. Availability is thinner than the Seychelles, and we will say so before you plan a flight.
