Bareboat bases ask for an ICC, RYA Day Skipper Practical, or an equivalent national licence, plus a CV. Some Ionian bases are flexible in June and September. High-season Cyclades weeks are stricter. We check this before you fall in love with a boat.
Start in the Ionian unless you already have a windy week on your CV. The Cyclades in July and August are a Meltemi classroom, not a first charter. The Saronic sits in between and works well from Athens.
Plan on about EUR 2,400 in spring and autumn, EUR 3,500 in June and September, and EUR 4,800 in July and August for a mid-size monohull, before extras. August 50-footers cost more. We quote more than one fleet for the same dates.
Take the sailing yacht if you want to sail, fit town quays and keep the week cheaper. Take a cat if the group wants space, shade and a level platform, and you can pay for it. We will not pretend they are interchangeable.
Lefkas, Corfu, Athens (Alimos), Lavrion, Kos and Rhodes hold the deepest monohull fleets. Split your week from one base unless you want a one-way and can pay the fee.
