You should also be comfortable with navigation, anchoring, and shallow-water sailing, as the Bahamas has many shallow banks and coral heads. If you don’t meet these requirements, a skippered charter is highly recommended.

Summer months (June-November) are hotter, more humid, and within hurricane season, though sailing is still possible with careful weather monitoring. May and November often offer the best combination of good weather and lower prices.
