Koh Chang: Thailand 1-Week Sailing Itinerary

Explore Thailand’s Koh Chang Archipelago on an easy 7-night route designed for short, scenic passages and maximum time in the water. Begin with check-in on Koh Chang and a gentle hop to Koh Wai’s simple, road-free beaches. Continue to Koh Rang’s protected Marine Park for pristine snorkeling and quiet overnights once day boats depart. Spend two unhurried days along Koh Kut’s west coast, where long beaches, jungle trails, and inland waterfalls reward shore excursions. Cruise back north to Koh Mak for Suan Yai’s sweeping bay and Ao Kao’s laid-back shoreline bars before returning to Koh Chang for a last-night seafood dinner at Bang Bao Pier and a short morning run back to the base. Expect clear water, sandy anchorages, and authentic local eateries ashore.

Why this route works: Distances are short, anchorages are generally sandy with good holding, and there’s excellent snorkeling in several stops. It’s ideal for families or crews prioritizing easy days over long passages. While the archipelago is navigable year-round, the November–April season typically brings the calmest seas and best underwater visibility. Note that the Marine Park around Koh Rang charges a fee for going ashore; landing areas are designated and reef protection is strictly enforced.
